The more and more I think about it, it becomes less scary and seems to make more sense for BMI to embrace "radical transparency". With a brand new program, potential students really need to feel that they have an honest (and complete) view of what BMI is all about. When you show the blemishes, it really lends credibility to the aspects of the school that you are most proud of. Keep up the good work. I am very interested to see where this path takes BMI.
I was born in Washington, D.C. in 1976. As an adult I have lived primarily in Europe.
My first job was on a small horse farm at age 12. I took care of three arabian horses after school. At age 16 I began working on congressional campaigns in the 2nd Congressional District of Missouri for James M. Talent, a man I greatly admire. Each campaign was a fresh start with new competitors, new issues, new media environments and new challenges. This is where I discovered my love for starting organizations with small groups of dynamic people.
Over the years I have been fortunate to be involved at the start of dozens of organizations. In some organizations I am able to support with ideas, by connecting people or by supplying capital. In others, I serve as the leader during the initial phase until another leader emerges to take the organization forward.
